Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I've never taken an online course before and I'm worried about the technology involved.
A: It's our job to make sure you understand the technology and how to navigate a course. In general, you won't need any special skills or abilities. Courses are well organized and directions and tutorial videos are available for further instruction should you need them. Instructors and course tech support are well equipped and always available to help if any trouble should arise.
Q: I hold a teaching license in a state other than Iowa. Will your courses still count towards my license renewal?
A: Because all of our courses are accredited, if you take a course for graduate credit, you shouldn't have a problem, but we always recommend checking with your district or department of education first. If you choose to take a course for license renewal credit rather than graduate credit, you should check with your district or department of education first. Many states accept this option because whether you take a course for graduate credit or license renewal the coursework and requirements for our courses are the same. We do this to assure the quality standards of all our courses. We are happy to provide you with any course documentation you need to submit for approval.
Q: When I finish a course, how do I get my transcript?
A: Hard copies of transcripts are automatically mailed to participants who successfully complete a course. Participants can expect to receive their transcripts within 2 weeks of a course's end date. Contact information for obtaining additional copies or addressing questions that may arise are made available during the course and vary depending on the credit option or issuing school/university.
